Welcome to House of Vines Studio!

Hi everyone! Welcome to House of Vines Studio! My name is Melissa. I am so excited to start this journey with you. I have been sewing for over 15 years. I started in my tiny apartment on a Janome Sewist. My first quilt was a Christmas log cabin and my love for quilting grew from there. I made lots of baby quilts until I had my own children. A few years ago, I invested in a Juki and started to expand my skills. Like lots of people, I needed an outlet during the pandemic and quarantining at home. I picked up quilting again and haven’t looked back!

What I love about quilts is that they are handmade with love. There is such a long history of quilting and sewing. They are handed down through the generations with stories and history. I hope that through my designs and quilts, I can help create heirloom quilts that you will cherish with your family and loved ones.

I live in Austin with my husband and two children. I love live music, am an avid vinyl collector and enjoy reading. I have my Masters in Social Work and during the day am a fundraiser for a national non profit. My hope is to make this space inclusive of everyone. My plan is to give a portion of my proceeds to charity each month. I hope I can use this platform for good.
